Mass Storage
Mass storage refers to a system of computers, controllers, networking, and storage devices that provide the capability of retaining and retrieving large volumes of digital data. Common storage solutions include operating systems that distribute data to disk, tape, and/or optical disc systems that are connected through wire and/or fibre networks. Rapid expansion of Yale’s digital content has made mass storage an essential component in Yale’s digital infrastructure.
